Historic Tour 2011

Washington D. C. and The Historic Triangle are once in a lifetime memories....a place to go back to time and time again. Lets see...I've been back about a dozen times..my wife over 25! It never gets old, something new or never scene each time.

This year we, Christian Legacy Tours, hosted Capital Christian Middle School of Sacramento and Summit Christian School of Orangevale. Over 130 people strong, we started in Jamestown, the first 'permanent' English settlement in the new World. We also visited Williamsburg and Yorktown, where the last significant Revolutionary War battle was fought.

From there we traveled to Richmond, Virginia to the site of Patrick Henry's "give me liberty, or give me death" speech and witnessed a rendition of that stirring meeting. Then on to Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson's estate, Monticello. Down the hill, we stopped for lunch at Michie's Tavern, an 18th century landmark of the times.

The remainder of the trip was spent in D. C. We saw Mount Vernon, The Holocaust Museum, The Pentagon, The White House, all of the Memorials, Capitol Hill, and Arlington National Cemetery. A special treat was seeing the 'first run' musical, "Liberty Smith" at Ford's Theatre.
